Rajasthan, The Land of Kings, with its rich cultural history will present a different flavor with each and every place we visit.
The “Pink City” Jaipur was recently declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city painted pink with some of the most colourful bazaars in India. Jaipur is the capital and gateway to Rajasthan, and once you’ve explored a medieval fort or swayed on a camel, you’ll want to experience more.
The city of Ajmer gets its name from “Ajay Meru”, which can be roughly translated as “invincible hill”. It is a perfect representation of the diversity of the Indian culture and ethics, and displays a perfect blend of religion, community, culture, etc., coexisting and flourishing in harmony.
Pushkar, “the rose garden of Rajasthan” is where traditional meets hippie in the desert state. We spend some time here to soak in that easygoing Rishikesh vibe in this sandstone town.
Udaipur, “City of Lakes”, has the most beautiful lakes. The main motive to visit Udaipur is for the opportunity to explore these lakes, Udaipur City Palace, a collection of palaces, museums, and gardens with a collection of architectural styles.
Jodhpur,”Blue City”, is the second largest city in Rajasthan. The name is clearly befitting as most of the architecture – forts, palaces, temples, havelis and even houses are built in vivid shades of blue. It is also famous for imposing fortress of Mehrangarh has a landscape dominating a rocky ridge with the eight gates leading out of the fortress. You can also try ziplining here to enjoy the best view of Mehrangarh and the Blue City.
Jaisalmer,” Golden City” is a city situated on the edges of the Thar Desert. It’s an exceptional sandstone city that rises from the sand dunes. The dominating feature of Jaisalmer is the Jaisalmer Fort, also known as Sonar Qila, which is still an inhabited space.
The above mentioned places open out a handful of the many secrets this state hides. “This Incredible State of India” is quite possibly the most historic and cultural state in India. It’s not amazing that it shows India at its most colorful, iconic, and exotic best. The majority of the things you can anticipate when visiting Rajasthan are the palaces, forts, lakes, desert, camels, and elephants. And loads of fun & memories worth a lifetime with Wandering Souls.
