Join Wandering Souls & Walkitecture on a guided cycle ride through the empty streets of South Bombay on a lazy Saturday morning where we find a stew of old buildings with striking features and lesser-told stories behind every façade and structure. Pedal through the city of dreams and explore South Bombay’s iconic as well as hidden structures with the ride ending with breakfast at one of the iconic restaurants of Mumbai in Colaba.
We would be riding through the Queens necklace(Marine Drive). Apart from the coastline, SoBo’s streetscape offers an array of eclectic architectural styles, from Gothic, Neo-classical, Indo-Saracenic to Art-Deco and so many more. This ride aims to explore these different styles – from the David Sassoon Library to the Esplanade Mansion, the busy streets of the BSE, Horniman Circle, St. Thomas Cathedral and myriad coffee shops and galleries in between! Bombay’s busiest business district that stretches from Churchgate to the Asiatic library has stunning commercial properties in its precinct. This tour journeys Bombay’s commercial and residential buildings that mirrored global design movements. Join us for a perfect and interesting start to your Sunday!
About Walkitecture
Walkitecture is Architect and Restorator Nikhil Mahashur’s passion project that he started five years ago. Nikhil developed an affinity towards the subject when he restored and designed a couple of buildings in South Mumbai. A fine example of that is Harpal House at Kalaghoda, Mumbai – an old rundown building converted into a heritage-looking building to match the eclectic style of Kala Ghoda.
