The Valley of Flowers trek has become increasingly popular in recent years. The sight of a valley flooded with flowers of all sorts and colors can be irresistible to any nature lover. The valley’s ambiance is enhanced by local folklore. They even go to the extent of making the scent of flowers so strong that travelers become ignorant.
We haven’t had any other comparable experiences, but we think it’s true. One of the most spectacular Valley treks in the Himalayas, the valley is studded with some of the most vibrant, breathtaking, and pristine flowers.
Depending on the season, the flowers display a distinctive variety of colours and patterns, leaving you spellbound. It was declared a national park and a UNESCO world heritage site in 1982.
The Valley of Flowers trek also leads to the religiously important Hemkund Sahib, a gurudwara perched at a stunning height of 14,000 feet. Being able to combine spirituality and scenic beauty in one trek is a dream come true.
Unlike any other time of year in India, the best time to visit the Valley of Flowers is between July and August, when the wildflower blooms are at their peak.
The best time to visit this place is during the monsoons, when the area offers stunning views that will make you fall in love with its beauty. As the winter months arrive, the area starts to lose its colour and changes from a vivid to a white one. Furthermore, the area becomes inaccessible, and revellers will have to wait until the next monsoon season to tour the quarter’s wilderness.

Meet us at the Rishikesh at 7:00 a.m. Please arrive a day early in Rishikesh to avoid any delays. We set out on our journey to Govind Ghat. The journey will take up to 11 hours to complete. As you drive up the Bhagirath freeway, which runs alongside the Alaknanda River, you’ll notice the sharp bends in the road and the valley getting deeper and deeper. You’ll arrive at the base camp, which is at a height of 1920 metres, late in the evening. After a long drive, take a break to acclimate to the altitude. Grab a lovely meal before going to your guesthouse/lodge or hotel for the night.
A gorgeous sunrise and a hearty breakfast will get your day off to a great start! The climb to Ghangharia, which is at a height of 2926 metres, begins after that. The trek will take up to 7 hours to complete. The first part of the pilgrimage to the sacred Hem Kund is motorable, and it is usually crowded with Sikh pilgrims. The trek follows a moderate incline during the day. For the most part, you’ll be walking alongside the river until you cross it. Following that, the canal would be hidden from view. There is no need to take meals for the day because there are plenty of restaurants and dhabas along the way. Once you arrive, you can rest and check into the hotel/guesthouse. You should still go exploring in the area.
Start your day early in the morning by gazing out the window of your hotel room at the magnificent sunrise. We will begin our journey to the Valley of Flowers, which is situated at a height of 3505 metres, after breakfast. The Valley of Flowers trek can take up to 7 hours to complete, and the terrain is relatively flat and easy to navigate. The Valley of Flowers National Park’s gates can be reached after a brief stroll. We arrive at the park after purchasing our tickets and immediately notice minor changes in the landscape, finally leading to a gorgeous old bridge built over a bubbling creek. Following the bridge, the landscape changes dramatically as the valley opens up on one side, revealing a stunning vista of flowers of all colours and varieties! Geraniums, Himalayan Roses, Blue Poppy, Dog Flower, and other flower species come in a rainbow of shades, including blue, red, yellow, and pink. After lunch, begin your trip back to Ghanghariya for an overnight stay!
This day, get up before the sun for an early breakfast! Begin by preparing yourself for a potentially difficult day ahead! You should hike to Hemkund Sahib, which is 4300 metres above sea level, on this day! The hike will take up to ten hours to complete, and the terrain will remain steep throughout. As you progress up the steep path, you’ll come across a small waterfall as the view increases. You’ll notice that the amount of oxygen in the air decreases as you ascend harder. Take plenty of breaks along the way to avoid altitude sickness. The stunning views, on the other hand, will be more than enough to distract you from the struggle. When you finally arrive at the Hemkund Sahib, take in the peace and tranquilly that pervades the area, as well as the picturesque sight of the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara alongside the lake. It’s a stunning sight to behold, especially when the rare Brahma Kamal appears from time to time! After relaxing for a while and having lunch alongside the lake, begin your descent to Ghanghariya. The descent will be steep and difficult on the knees, but it will be thrilling and energising! You’ll be staying in Ghanghariya for the night!
Get up early for the descent back to base camp. After another brilliant sunrise and a hearty breakfast, we begin our descent. The aim is to arrive early so you have plenty of time to leisurely explore the surrounding areas, such as Auli. This is where you wanna be for the moment!
Before leaving for the long drive back to Rishikesh, we start with a hearty breakfast. You will arrive in Rishikesh late in the afternoon as your journey with us gets to an end
